4th Annual 3 on 3 Pond Hockey Tournament!

Make sure to mark JANUARY 12, 2013 down on your calendars!! It's an event you don't want to miss!

For those of you who don't really know what the pond hockey tournament is all about, here is the lowdown on what this day generally looks like:
The 3 on 3 pond hockey tournament is an annual fund-raising event that we have held for the past 3 years.  It is a Saturday of fun, fellowship, and, of course, some friendly competition!  Everyone is welcome to enter a team of friends, family, coworkers, or any other people you can think of.  The tournament itself is for those who are 16 yrs or older, but everyone is welcome to come on out and cheer on the teams!

Some questions you might already be asking yourself:

How do I get involved in this event as a hockey team? Those interested in participating must first recruit a team, come up with a team name, then download the Handbook and Pledge Sheet from our website.  Anyone can recruit a team (you don't have to have a team fully from your church). We'd also like you to know that ALL players must be a minimum of 16 years old, and that every single person participating MUST wear a helmet.

Do I have to pay any fees to play?  Each team is asked to raise $1000 as an entrance fee for the tournament itself, but the competition doesn't stop there! Along with a prize for the winning the tournament, there is also a prize for the team who raises the most money.

Where does all this money go? The money raised from the 3 on 3 hockey tournament will be used to supplement our operating budget, so we can keep the fees charged to our summer campers and retreat participants affordable. Our operating funds cover everything from ropes for the climbing wall, feed for the horses and arrows for the archery range to the money we need to bring in speakers, worship bands and maintain a top-notch staff team.

Will Camp Evergreen change any activities or events in the event of inclement weather (if it's 200 degrees below zero or 10 degrees above zero)? Most certainly! We're very flexible here at Evergreen, and we will make sure to send you home with the same number of fingers and toes with which you arrived.

Last year was definitely our best weather-wise, and we're hoping for the same for 2013! If you have any more questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us at director@camp-evergreen.com (Bob likes e-mails, we're sure) or kerryprecht@gmail.com. We hope to see all of your shining faces then!!
