Mid-Winter Meltdown (February 12-14)

Mid-Winter Meltdown is back! We had nine families here this last weekend for winter family camp. It was fun, not-too-cold, fam-tastic weekend.

Our speaker, Kevin McInnes, is a much-loved friend of Evergreen. He spoke from Evergreen's 2010 theme verse, Micah 6:8, which reads, "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." You'll be hearing lots more about Micah 6:8 in the weeks and months to come, here on the Green Spot. Alissa Enns led our worship through music -- she pointed our hearts toward seeing God through his creation! Alissa is from my home church, River West, and it was super fun to have her and her family here!

Usually, I take multiple photos in chapel and end up with totally inadequate representation of all the other stuff that happens during weekend retreats. This time around, I didn't take my camera into chapel at all. Photographically speaking, it's all about the other stuff!

We sledded (and tumbled).

We climbed and we went on pony rides and we slept.

We hammocked and we went on wagon rides.

We had a fancy-schmancy family Valentine's dinner on Saturday night. Jasper attempted to pour juice for everyone and maybe not everyone was happy.

And, of course, general cuteness abounded.
