Generation 4 to the Coast!

At Stanley Park
Possibly one of the most funny jumping pictures.

This last week was our big trip to Vancouver Island with our Generation 4 Germans. As you may know - we like to take our Germans on Adventure Days now and again...all of which you can read about here.

Our trip started out at 7am from Camp with the goal of driving to Stillwood Camp on Cultus Lake near Chiliwack. In previous years, the van as been quiet and sleepy for nearly the entire trip (even Daniel slept last year). But not this year...folks were singing and chatting and quite alert for most of the way. It was beautiful weather and we got to Cultus Lake right on schedule...however - nobody volunteered this year to take a dip in one of the deepest lakes on the Mainland. They did, however, run every trail up the mountain from Stillwood.

The next day - was Granville Island and Stanley Park. We ate delicious market food and hung out with the whales at the Acquarium before heading to the ferry. It was amazing weather that day as we landed on the island and headed to Geico's family in Qualicum Beach.

Largest Douglas Fir at Cathedral Grove
Day number three included Cathedral Grove (which is a trip favourite), Little Qualicum Falls and Coombs for ice cream...well - Geico and Jogee ate ice cream.

The following day we headed down island to Victoria where we all chose our own adventures whether that was the Royal BC Museum, beaches and Breakwater, or just enjoying the sites of Victoria.

Back on the mainland, we played at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, took in a MOST amazing Good Friday Service at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford and went Mini-Golfing with one of our alumni, Eiger.

5:30am was the time that we departed from Stillwood the next morning and we were greeted by one of the most amazing sunrises as we topped the Coquihalla. Again - the van never really slept much as we played jukebox with each other's ipods all the way back home (of course, playing Paul Brandt's Alberta Bound several times to celebrate the trip home).

And folks! That was Generation 4's Adventure to the BC Coast. This Generation is with us for a few more months but we will start to say goodbye to half of them on July 1st and then at the end of the summer for the other two. As always, it's hard to think that they will be going home but that's why these moments are always so important to take.

Thanks for listening to our adventure! Check back next week when we get to tell you about our adventure here this weekend...Camp Evergreen's Ladies Retreat...with 103 Ladies!!!!

Peace out World of Evergreen!

Love Jogee
