Happy Easter Week Friends! It's hard to believe that as I type this April is already a third gone and our Spring Staff arrive in less than three weeks. Wowzers! I can barely believe that. We've got a lot of events coming up in the next two and a half months. We just wanted to alert you to them so that you can mark your calendar and get registered for the events. Spring Fundraiser The first event that is coming is our Spring Fundraiser. This annual event is not one to miss. It's out of this world (this year especially because it's a Star Wars theme!). We really like to have fun with our fundraisers - I mean, we're camp people, right? And what would camp be without a little dressing up and laughing over an amazing meal cooked by Ken? One of the questions that I have been getting is whether or not you HAVE to dress up...Dressing up is not required! But we will certainly welcome any Jedis, Padawans, and Vaders that might saunter through the doors that night. Ti...

One of our favourite days of the year happened on May 25th. It was our annual Senior's Day here at Camp Evergreen. We love it - we love when we are able to welcome these folks on site and show them around.  They are always such an encouragement to our staff. We even had some Senior's on Friday who were brand new to Camp Evergreen! Brand new first time "campers"! Now - if you think you're too old for camp...you'd better start reconsidering! We had a fantastic time touring the camp - seeing the site for the new building, hiking out to the barns to see Blue, our newest addition to our horse herd, and of course, to our Archery Range where nearly every Senior had a chance at shooting an arrow at some balloons filled with candy. What a wonderful adventure Friday was! We have a lot of favourite days around here. A little like when Bacon or Geico also talk about their favourite part of chapel. Warm Ups are their favourite. MTWI Games are their favourite. Worship is their favourite. The speaker is their favourite. Basically...there are a lot of favourites. In fact...the whole entire thing is their favourite. So when I say that Seniors Day is my favourite just know that I have a lot of favourites. Seriously though - Seniors Day is amazing. This year, Seniors Day happens on Friday, May 20th. Can you imagine what might be better than having coffee, cinnamon buns, coffee, cookies, lunch made by Ken, opportunities to shoot bows and arrows, visit the horses, share stories about camp, have community with our staff, speak German with some of our Germans, and have more coffee and cookies? Pardon the pun in the title - I just couldn't help myself. You may wonder what is so punny about the title so allow me to explain. Monday was one of our favourite days of the year - it was Seniors Day at Camp Evergreen! Yes, yes - we spend a lot of time talking about how summer camp is one of our most favourite too but if our staff could pick a single day to be their favourite in spring - I bet that they would choose Seniors Day. The day is quite wonderful - especially because we eat so much good food! Fresh baked cookies in the morning, full table service for lunch, and then fresh baked cinnamon buns (the size of your head) in the afternoon. Now if that doesn't make your mouth water just thinking about it - I don't know what will. After coffee and cookies in the morning - we tour around the camp a little, showing our cabins to folks who haven't seen all of the new ones and the spots where some of our old cabins used to reside.
