Dispelling the myth of Willson
-->
The Life and Times of Sir
Willson ManCave
K2 demonstrating the Willson ManCave Warm Up |
As told by The Real Men of
Evergreen
Willson was a real Caribou, a
majestic Caribou, in fact. He once roamed the wild, but was killed in
a tragic hunting accident…the body was never recovered, but his
head was…
The real story begins with Dalhousie
Youth Group. During a photo scavenger hunt, Willson was found by
Dalhousie out behind the Maintenance Shop. After being used in many
pranks, Willson decided it was time to settle down. After a short
lived time of glory, he was forgotten, and some things that should
not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend, legend
became myth, and for 3 months, Willson passed out of all knowledge.
But something happened to Willson that he did not expect. He was
picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable: a Human, John
Toews (The Distraction...a.k.a. Dishrack), formerly of Dalhousie.
After being found, John took Willson
to the Mini Lodge. His time in the Mini Lodge was a time of much
happiness, rejoicing, and pizza pops. Things were even so good, that
the Mini Lodge was named after Willson himself… (Willson’s
ManCave). It was in Willson’s ManCave where he met many of his
lifelong friends, like Cam (Sunshine), Dylan (Fender), Mitch (K2),
Christoph (Dragon), Bradley (Aflac), Nate (Bacon) and Adam (Eiger).
Those friendships will never die…
Willson had many adventures and fun
stories, but those are all for another time. During the summer of
2013, Willson was threatened by “The Bear” a.k.a. Jogee. Soon
this knowledge had made its way to John, and John gathered a small
band of forces, and took Willson to seek refuge in the depths of the
Evergreen forest. After many weeks of safety, Willson was forced to
be on the run again, as his location was compromised by the Mighty
Wranglers of Evergreen who passed his location on to “The Bear”.
Willson fled deeper into the thick forest, and now takes refuge in an
undisclosed location, known only by the ones closest to him...and
maybe Rolf (Princess).
Amongst all the stress and hardship,
Willson has begun to decay and shed all of his soft hair he once had.
In memory of Willson, a game called “Willson Ball” was created so
that the name of Willson would live on and become legend.
And so, that is how Willson Ball
came to be. Willson will always remain in our hearts…And on Facebook...that's right, you can even add him as a friend on Facebook here.
