confer, confer, confer.

One of the fun things we get to do in January and February and the beginning of March is hit the road. We've been to:
The Bible colleges were for staff visits and recruitment, as I talked about last year. This year, Courtney, Alexis and Emily shared the adventure.

We go to Teachers' Conventions to talk about our exciting and fun guest group opportunities with teachers -- we especially talk about outdoor education, team building and band camps at Teachers' Conventions. Jay, Courtney, Alexis and Emily have all been part of the Teachers' Convention stop offs. This year, Courtney did two presentations, about experiential learning, at the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Alberta conference. Word on the street is (aka, Courtney says), it was a lot of fun.

Missions Fest and Breakforth are less specific in their intent. We meet lots of potential campers, we connect with former staff, we get to know folks who might become future staff, we meet volunteers, we talk with other camps and Bible colleges who also have booths ... both are super intense weekends!

During Breakforth, we also got to see the Newsboys, which was a bonus. I like to call them the dcnewstalkboys, because the Newsboys's new lead singer used to be one of the dcTalk guys, which blows my mind (in a positive way).

Here's a little pictoral essay on the construction and use of Evergreen's ginormous booth ...

Top Left: "Oh my goodness! It's really hard to click the magnets into place!"
Top Right: Emily tries to extricate herself from behind our display, in our tiny booth.
Bottom Left: The display set up, Emily flips on the light.
Bottom Right: Open for business! (With thanks to Ken from Frontier Lodge.)
