Things like Bacon playing his bagpipes up to the Tuck Shop before he got pied and Sid Koop sharing the word each day with us. Impact, our summer camp for high school students, happens during the last week of our summer season. We love to end our summers with a bang, and this year was no exception! 74 campers came for the week, and it was one of our biggest Impact weeks in a long time. Mike Perschon has been our Impact week speaker for many years in the past, and this year he based his talks in part around The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe from C. S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia . He covered many topics, including the difference between child ish and child like faith, and something about how so many popular love songs are just really terrible (repeat-peat-peat-peat?) The schedule included exciting late night activities like Cirque de la Groove (with a real live circus performer!), Bible Smugglers (a simulated experience in which campers are transported to South Moscovia where they're given the task of bringing Bibles to members of the persecuted church in North Moscovia), and Camp Eve...

The Explorers this past week were a ton of fun! We had over 78 campers on-site and 10 campers off-site. Our Arise (Cabin Leader in Training) program wrapped up this week. The three week long Arise program consisted of 9 campers being brought up in the life and times of Camp Evergreen. They learned how to effectively lead cabin discussions, belong to a community of fellow believers, and most of all serve Christ in everything they do. We loved our Arise campers and hope that they will come back next summer and become staff! Here are some of the quotes from this week's fireside chapel: "I learned we should love one another." Ignite 1: The Statistics Dates : 15-20 July 2012 Age Group : Grades 6-8 Number of Campers : Full camp! Overall Fun Rating : 11 moofen out of 10

--> July 8 marked the start of our very first week of summer camps for 2012. We began with a bang, having a full camp! We had a super fantastic time! Our speaker was Steve Ibbotson, who is a professor at Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. The kids loved him! He sparked awesome cabin discussions for devo times and really impressed upon the campers how big God's unconditional love is! It was a scorching hot week, getting all the way up to 33 degrees Celsius! We played all sorts of water games to keep the kids cool, like slip 'n' slide, drip drip drop, and going down to the creek. It was a marathon week of hydration and sunscreen application (and reapplication)! We heard things like this at our fireside chapel on Thursday night when kids can share about what they learned: "God took His time to make me His own masterpiece." "If God's with you it's not as terrifying going down the zipline or riding the talles...

Hey folks - just Courtney here... I thought I would let you know about all the babies that have been springing up around here. It all started with a cute little nest of squirrel atop our Challenge Course that needed to get relocated because Moma Squirrel definitely was no "Scaredy Squirrel" and we were concerned that she was going to start taking offense to us being in her Nut Tree. So...the nest got carefully relocated to avoid any further altercations (we don't fancy angry squirrels). The other set of babies are actually nesting right outside my outside my office in one of the beams of the Welcome Centre. Robins! This is what they looked like last week: Ugly Babies!! They have bulgy eyes and no feathers... This week? Not so ugly! They've got feathers and are always looking for Momma to drop a worm in their mouths. I just think it's absolutely amazing to watch these birds grow. I can just imagine that next week they will likely begin flight trainin...
