2018 in a Nutshell

Sometimes when people ask me if things have settled down at camp I want to chuckle. Not because it's a silly question - more because it can feel crazy how far in advance we are planning. Not only that, but a few short days after Impact ended we were training our Fall staff, jumped right into Summer's End Family Camp, and then started receiving Guest Groups on site. There really isn't a "settling" that happens here. Just transitions into the next season.

Summer has been packed up in my office, it's true. I've rolled up the signs that read Lost and Found, Registration A-K, The Nurse and stored them for the winter. Summer planning takes a cat nap in September. By October, registration forms for 2018, speakers, and volunteers all start getting worked on. It's exciting to watch plans build and develop.

Summer camp isn't the only thing we plan for right now. In fact, it's only one piece of what we do. Retreats and Fundraisers are being planned too. And to help everyone plan their 2018 year, here's is the next year of dates for you:

October 2017
  • October 16th - Winter Fest Family Camp Registration goes live
November 2017
  • We will be sending 2018 Summer Camp Brochures and Camper Mail out towards the end of November 2017. Please call us if you would like a brochure for friends.
January 2018
  • January 2nd - Ladies Retreat Registration goes live
  • January 3rd - Summer Camp Registration for children and youth goes live
  • January 13th - Pond Hockey Fundraiser and Open House
February 2018
  • February 2nd - Early Bird Deadline (pay by this date to get 2017 prices)
  • February 5th - Summer Family Camp Registration goes live
  • February 16-19th - Winter Fest Family Camp
April 2018
  • April 6-8th - Ladies Retreat
May 2018
  • May 5th - Tough Camper Run - A new Fundraiser for camp!!
  • May 27th - Daughter Day
June 2018
  • June 8-10th - Father and Son Retreat
  • June 23rd - AGM and Open House
July and August 2018

Jug 'n' Jog. If the world could just play more Jug 'n' Jog - I think it would be a happier place. It is quite possibly the number one, most singularly enjoyed game at camp. In fact - there are times when I think kids could come to camp, only play Jug 'n' Jog and leave being the happiest kids on Earth. In fact, we could almost be renamed Camp Jug 'n' Jog. And it's also funny - my computer or iPhone doesn't even recognize the words or phrase as being a spell check. That's when you know you talk about something a lot. thanks for stopping by. this is a new thing for us so bear with us as we figure out technology. basically we started this blog to create a place where all of our friends can come visit us 24/7/365. and by friends i mean you...yeah you...campers, kids who visit us from schools, church groups, retreaters...and anybody you might haul along for the ride. we'll keep you informed as to what's on the dL as far as programming goes and what the happenings are at camp...and maybe some funny stories to go along with those. please check out Camp Evergreen's main site for any contact information. well - i've gotta get and start prepping for our sr. high retreat this next weekend (sept. 15-17th). until next time this is courtney (aka c-bear...aka cort) signing out. stay strong in his grip.

summer is here

hey camp evergreen! sorry that it's been so long since i've written. camp has starting and time has just been flying. we've all ready had a family camp, trail blazer I camp and we're just finishing our first sparky/explorer camp. it's been a great start to the summer. forgive me if my updates are few and far between this summer as things keep busy here at camp. i will try to do what i can to post some pictures of what's been up here at camp. kids are coming to know Jesus Christ our Lord and their personal savior and learning tons about God. thanks for sticking with me. in the meantime here's a picture of our wrangling team for the summer. happy trails wherever you are! c-bear
