The Family Meltdown

well, it's steph again and i am here with loads of info on many things :). first off, despite popular opinion, I am not courtney's sister nor any other relation to her. i am merley her intern. in other words, i am the person that does all courtney's work (just kidding!) i am actually learning to do her job, and all that she does all year long. it's pretty interesting.

i also have news on the Family Meltdown last weekend. it was a great weekend filled with fun in the...snow. the weather was beautiful (i love the snow!), and the activites were a blast. there were trail rides led by our fearless head wrangler, Jon. (he's the guy in the front with the hat in the picture on the left) he does an incredible job with the horses and helping out around the camp. i'm pretty sure everyone had a good time, i mean who couldn't, riding a horse on a nice, warm winter day surrounded by loads and loads of snow? well a close second would be the sleigh ride that happened in the evening. cool, crisp air, the clydes Duke and Diamond pulling a sleigh. mmm...so much fun!

there were other fun things to do too, besides the trail rides. we have an amazing tobogganing hill (definatly my favorite part of the weekend!) and an outdoor skating rink (all you that have been here in the summer would know it as the basketball court). some people had fun at archery, while others prefered the climbing wall. despite the cold, many intreped climbers came out to conquer the 32' wall. this picture is of cameron, one of the camp kids. his dad is the maintenence technition around here and he makes sure that everything works like it should. he's pretty amazing too.

the speaker that came last weekend was don schuilling from Highland MB, Calgary. he spoke on the marriage relationship and how it plays into the family life. we were really blessed to have him come and minister to us and the families that came. his honesty was great and he could really understand what families go through (since he was married and had kids of his own). thanks don!

the first annual family meltdown was a blast and i know that next year is going to be just as good, if not better than this years camp. that about sums up the weekend and all my news, so i will talk to y'all later! hope to see you in the summer, either at family camp or summer camps, or even staff! ttfn!
