The Countdown is on!

Happy December!

Did that happen a little too quickly for anyone else? I was quite comfortable with November and then all of a sudden Tuesday happened and it was December...I don't know if I was ready to start saying/writing December. But it's here and Christmas is coming!

Christmas isn't the only thing coming. There's a couple other things that are right around the corner. Summer Camp Registration starts on January 4th! That's seriously only four weeks from Monday. Can we set a record again for first day registrations? I can't wait for it!

Then only days later is our annual Pond Hockey Tournament. This is always an extremely fun day where folks who love camp get together to play some hockey and raise money to support the activities and operations at camp. What better way to celebrate and support what happens at camp then to have an incredibly fun day at camp!

We have teams registering to play and Silent Auction items just begging to be bid on. This year we're excited to include a helicopter flight from Alpine Helicopters in Canmore, Oilers and Flames ticket packages and some other fantastically exciting items on the Auction table.

Last year, Lendrum hoisted the Fundraising trophy by raising $12,000. Can they do it again? Will someone out-raise them? These are questions that get me very excited.

This tournament means that we can continue to develop activity areas and create a place where people from all walks of life can come and experience camp - a place where Lives are Transformed.

This year - we are upping the anti (I think that's how you spell out that phrase) - the top fundraising team will receive custom Camp Evergreen hockey jerseys. 

We still have a couple spots for teams - deadline for registration is December 15th, 2015 (REGISTER A TEAM HERE) and if you don't have a team to fundraise with - call the camp! We can put your money towards a team. CLICK HERE to find where you can donate online!

Lastly - plan to be here on January 9th, 2016 for our Pond Hockey Tournament. There's great food, Silent Auction items to bid on, a kid skate, and great hockey to watch...I hear there's rumour of some wagon rides too!

The puck drops at camp on January 9th...let's get ready to rummmmbbbll...I mean fundraaaaaiiissssseeeee! ;)

Jug 'n' Jog. If the world could just play more Jug 'n' Jog - I think it would be a happier place. It is quite possibly the number one, most singularly enjoyed game at camp. In fact - there are times when I think kids could come to camp, only play Jug 'n' Jog and leave being the happiest kids on Earth. In fact, we could almost be renamed Camp Jug 'n' Jog. And it's also funny - my computer or iPhone doesn't even recognize the words or phrase as being a spell check. That's when you know you talk about something a lot. You might think that those opening statements are strange or even foreign - maybe you don't even know what Jug 'n' Jog is...well, let me tell you! It's epic, it's fantastic, and it's played with recycling (we have to be good stewards, you know). thanks for stopping by. this is a new thing for us so bear with us as we figure out technology. basically we started this blog to create a place where all of our friends can come visit us 24/7/365. and by friends i mean you...yeah you...campers, kids who visit us from schools, church groups, retreaters...and anybody you might haul along for the ride. we'll keep you informed as to what's on the dL as far as programming goes and what the happenings are at camp...and maybe some funny stories to go along with those. please check out Camp Evergreen's main site for any contact information. well - i've gotta get and start prepping for our sr. high retreat this next weekend (sept. 15-17th). until next time this is courtney (aka c-bear...aka cort) signing out. stay strong in his grip.

summer is here

hey camp evergreen! sorry that it's been so long since i've written. camp has starting and time has just been flying. we've all ready had a family camp, trail blazer I camp and we're just finishing our first sparky/explorer camp. it's been a great start to the summer. forgive me if my updates are few and far between this summer as things keep busy here at camp. i will try to do what i can to post some pictures of what's been up here at camp. kids are coming to know Jesus Christ our Lord and their personal savior and learning tons about God. thanks for sticking with me. in the meantime here's a picture of our wrangling team for the summer. happy trails wherever you are! c-bear
